BAJAN SURFER BRUCE MACKIE HEADS TO THE ASP COPA QUIKSILVER MENS PRO IN EL SALVADOR
Bajan Surfer, Bruce Mackie will be competing in the upcoming Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 3 Star Quiksilver Menâs Pro at Punta Roca on July 4th to 8th, 2012. This will be the third of the five ASP North American Menâs events for this year.
The event will be contested at the perfect right hand point break of Punta Roca in La Libertad, El Salvador. It is said that âperfectionâ is the more suitable word to describe this wave, probably, one of the best right points in the world, breaking on a rocky bottom it gets hollow all the way through, giving you the chance to get really long barrels.
Mackie fresh from winning the recent Western Atlantic Surf Series (WASS) Junior Pro Division in Trinidad is fit and ready to take on the event where both the Latin American talent and the global up-and-comers have the opportunity to assert themselves on the ASP world Ranking.
More recently, at the Surfer of the Year Event held by the Barbados Surfing Association, Bruce won the Open Menâs Division at Soup Bowl in June 2012.
