Chefette May Day Mud Fest 2012 Results
If you heard engines barking and howling at max RPMs on May Day, then you were probably in the area of Searles Quarry (Barbados) when the Barbados Mud Dogs were let out for the 2012 Chefette May Day Mud Fest. Morning showers provided some relief from the dry weather which plagued the April Mud Dogs Safari and set up conditions perfect for the day’s challenges that included the Mud Pit, the Frame Twister, Obstacle Courses and a Fan Challenge where competitors had to swim across “Ramma’s Trench”.
Competitors were divided into two categories Small Tyre and Large Tyre and from there they each took turns in digging their boggers into the soft turf, flinging mud and splashing water in every direction to the excitement of the large crowd of onlookers. As usual at any Mud Fest, there were times when the mud is simply too much for a vehicle to overcome but event organizer, Ben Norris was ready with his heavy-duty TomCat to tow out any stuck-in-the-mud dogs.
The Small Tyre Category was a Samurai Showdown with each of the top three finishers piloting this popular Suzuki. In the end, it was Adrian Sinckler and Kerry Renee who gained top honors over 2nd placed team, David Gibson and Andy Williams and 3rd placed, Damien Johnson and Rorie ‘Potta’ McConney.
The Big Dogs in the Large Tyre category did not disappoint as they ran through the challenges with a bit more ease than their smaller counterparts. In the end, it was the team of Edson Arthur and Renata Roett who would come out on top in their Toyota Hilux over Mark Western and Noel Edwards (Nissan Patrol, Hard Body) and new-comers, Dominic Straker and Nicholas Pinto (Nissan Patrol, Wagon).
Now, we at Adrenaline Sun don’t want to take any credit for Edson’s victory but the Hilux did receive a personal inspection from the Babe of the Month – March, our Sexy Mechanic Janelle. Check it out and tell us if it was the difference maker.
Event organizers Darrin White (who also provided the day’s dreadlocked, color commentary), Ben Norris and their entire team must be congratulated for a job well done.
Adrenaline Sun thanks the management and staff of Chefette Restaurant for their continued support of Mud Dogs events.
