Chelsea Tuach to Attend Red Bull Future Surf Camp in California
Chelsea Tuach, the eleventh best female junior in the world and Barbados’ top female surfer, who just last week-end had her third double win in the Under 18 Girls’ and Open Women’s divisions in as many contests, has once again been one of the elite few surfers from the region to be invited to attend a high performance Red Bull Future Surf Camp.
Red Bull, the powerhouse of energy drinks, has created this camp for top young surfers who are expected to be the sports’ future stars. The four day camp pushes the surfers’ performance to the next level through intense practice of the most progressive manoevres in surfing, video analysis to improve technique, focus on diet and exercise and exposure to the life of a professional surfer.
The camp is being conducted by former professional surfers and world class coaches, Sean Hayes, Shane Beshen and Andy Walsh. Chelsea flies out on today (July 11) for San Clemente, California where the camp will be conducted. “I am really happy and honoured to have been selected for this prestigious camp. I learnt so much from the last one I attended in Peru in 2010 and am looking forward to pushing my surfing to the next level. I have a number of contests coming up in the next 6 months and this camp is going to help me perform to the best of my ability. I am really grateful to Red Bull for believing in me and helping to develop my surfing over the past 3 years” Tuach said just before her departure.
