Bajan Surfer Chelsea Tuach wins the Viridian Women’s Pro in Virginia Beach
Barbados’ top female surfer, Chelsea Tuach, did not disappoint at the finals of the Viridian Women’s Pro in Virginia Beach on Sunday (Aug 26). She came out of the gates
firing, posting a 9 and a 7 early in the heat. She held on to the lead and won against top US surfers Nikki Viesens and Kulia Doherty who were second and third respectively. Rounding out the top four was fellow Barbadian, and last year’s winner, Chelsea Roett.
“I am really happy to have won,” Tuach said. “It has been a great event and I am super stoked at this result! I want to thank everyone who has supported me and contributed to my success. I feel very blessed right now.”
Chelsea flies to California today where she will begin a strict training schedule in preparation for a series of upcoming contests.
