The Barbados Surfing Association crowned its National Champions at the world famous Soup Bowl in Bathsheba on September 22nd. The weather was perfect, however the wave conditions were challenging for the surfers. The waist to chest high waves favored the lighter junior surfers as they secured their positions in the finals.

The Open Men’s National Champion 2012 is Dane Mackie (9.33). Dane has been at the top of the podium more than any other surfer for the year and finished the year in fine form, with his radical, progressive maneuvers. Bruce Mackie (7.77) was third, showing his powerful fins out maneuvers along with Stephan Corbin (5.67) who finished fourth.
