Photo Armory: The Birth of the F-Spot

Somewhere in Barbados there is a skater’s hideaway known only as “The F-Spot”. Now you may have seen the skaters shredding the F-Spot in videos, competitions and photos on Adrenaline Sun but this ollie haven didn’t suddenly appear through a generous Government grant or a blessing from the skate spot fairies. It was old-fashioned hard work and sweat that was needed as all skaters were on deck to bring the spot to life.

In these throwback photos by Mikul “Miyagi” Elcock, we see the Paul “Irie” Wilson and Zaundre “Karma” O’Sullivan doing some sweeping and shovelling (not pictured is the concrete work which had to be done to patch up the rough spots). Also seen is the first ever documented “sesh” at the F-Spot with Martin Clarke.
