Skateboard Clothing: It’s a Kush Diet
If you want to lose a few pounds, there are low-cal and low-carb diets. If you want to look irie on a skateboard…there’s Kush Diet. As a new skateboard clothing brand, Kush Diet was launched by Canadian/Bajan and CEO, Malcolm Yarde. Funny enough, when Malcolm was younger, he thought he was “too gangsta” for skateboarding. Thankfully, it was just a phase and 8 years later he’s got his roots firmly planted on the board.

What are your signature tricks?
My sig. tricks are swirvs, close calls and staying on the board.

The hardest trick you ever pulled off was…
Double riding my girlfriend with 2 bags 2 boards between 2 moving taxis…. on my board. You don’t see that one at any skate comps…

Why did you decide to start your own skating brand, Kush Diet?
It’s actually me and my good friend Shaun. We started it pretty casually as a local skate crew trying to have something we could say was ours, that represents our lifestyle.
I know that there are a lot of low carb and fat-free diets out there but why the name Kush Diet?
Hahaha, well… Kush Diet is really just a higher grade of quality that I am trying to promote through hemp clothing.
What has the response been like?
The response was way more than expected. Originally, it was going to be custom gear for my friends … but then before I knew it people were considering it a new brand from Cali(fornia) without even knowing who I was.

How long has Kush Diet been in operation?
It was launched last summer when we printed the first set of t-shirts for my crew.
Where would you like to see Kush Diet in the future?
I just want to see it in the future… I don’t care where.
Other than skating and CEO-ing what else do you like doing?
I PAINT, it’s how i express myself when i’m off the board. I mainly use abstract/mixed media techniques. Check out some pieces.
