After a gruelling weekend of off-road action at the Sol Go Further June Safari, the Mud Dogs gathered at the Barbados Clay Target Shooting Association on Monday, June 25 for the event’s award presentation ceremony.

In the Chefette Novice Division, it was Dominic Straker and Nicholas Pinto who claimed top spot in their Nissan Patrol over 2nd placed Michael Fields and David Lewis (Land Rover Defender) with Morgan Seale and Rhett D’Andrade (Toyota Hilux) placing 3rd.

In the Pro Class, provisional results leaders, Leslie Alleyne and Chris O’Neal of Dumb and Dumber Racing maintained their first place finish in the Isuzu DMAX over contenders, Chris Armstrong and Wayne Clarke (Toyota Hilux) who finished 2nd and 3rd placed, Ryan Corbin and Dustin Edwards (Toyota Hilux).

Since Adrenaline Sun began covering Mud Dogs in October 2011, we’ve seen Leslie and Chris record wins in 3 different Safaris with 3 different vehicles, so we had to ask Leslie what was their secret, “There’s no real secret, Chris and I have a lot of fun during these safaris but there’s a certain element of luck in there because without luck anything can happen .”

Leslie also added that the route setters did a wonderful job, “It was a very challenging rally from start to finish and the route setters had everything covered. The organization was brilliant, the route-setting was brilliant and the tricks they used in some cases were genius, I can’t praise them enough.”

This was Chris’ first time winning a June Rally and he echoed Leslie’s praises of the work done by the organization team, “It was a very well thought out rally, very well planned, thoroughly enjoyable and Pete and Renata did an excellent job.”

In a moment which fully expressed both their gratitude and humility, the Dumb and Dumber duo donated their first place prizes of two vouchers for $100 in SOL Go Futher gasoline to the two route-setters, Renata Roett and Peter Bradshaw.

Adrenaline Sun thanks Sol Go Further and all of the sponsors for making this Mud Dogs Barbados, June Safari Event possible and the entire organization committee for a job well done.
