Most recently at the 26th NKF Pro in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Burke competing in the 17-U “Anarchy” Pro Junior surfed to almost perfection, riding a board that was just two days old and designed by Burke himself and surfboard veteran shaper of over three decades the experience ,Rich Price of RPD Surf Designs and using the latest in “Futures Fin” technolgy compliments of “Futures”!
Burke finished 2nd in the Junior pro, narrowly edged out by last years champion 16 yr old Corey Howell, Burke and Howell traded wave for wave, move for move, until Burke threw down the highest scoring wave of the heat with the biggest move, a fully committed drive off the bottom through the top of the wave cleanly into a no hands air that drew a roar from the thousands of spectators especially when the landing was as smooth as the take off, however his back up ride was a mere pt short to be awarded an honorable second place, with Daniel Glenn 3rd and Austin Clause 4th!
